INSULATOR
As for an insulator of Il Shin Teflon industries Co., Ltd., it is a material for high voltage circuit breakers, and you can see it as a finely-processed teflon component that is used for SF6 gas breaker that opens and closes electric circuits of power cables, distribution lines of more than 66kV-high voltage.
In terms of how to break electric currents of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), we choose contact with and separation from fixed electrodes. Intense ARC, heat and gas occur between those two operating electrodes, and teflon engineering materials are known for tolereance to such conditions.
